On Thursday, 4 May 2017 eligible Wirral residents aged 18 and over can vote for the first ever Liverpool City Region mayor.
People living in the Liverpool City Region (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral) can vote for a mayor who will make important decisions about where funding and resources should be spent locally.
To be eligible to vote, you need to ensure you are on the electoral register.
If you're already registered, you will have received a polling card by 3 April 2017.
If not already registered, there is still time to do this so that their vote counts.

The closing date for registration is Thursday, 13 April 2017.
About the Liverpool City Region
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority secured a Devolution Agreement with the Government which will see powers, decision-making and funding devolved to the Liverpool City Region. A condition of the Devolution Agreement was to have a directly Elected Mayor for the Liverpool City Region. The new Liverpool City Region Mayor will work with the six local councils to drive forward areas such as employment and skills, strategic housing, transport and economic development.
